Hello,

I have exactly the same issue with my setup as barnstaple.

My installation is the same (I think) And ADSL router and then my WRT54GL connected by wire to the ADSL router. My installation went fine, all OK.

But access from various devices seems very 'hit and miss', some devices connect, then others connect, then the original ones wont…

At the moment, I am able to gain access via my smart phone and another mobile phone and a laptop using Windows XP, but not via 2 laptops using Windows 7.

The symptom on all machines is that the splash screen does not appear.

The current symptom on the Windows 7 laptops is that the wireless icon displays with the exclamation mark and 'No Internet Access', when loading a browser (all browsers) it fails to load the splash screen.

One thing that I have noticed is that on the WRT54GL router, under 'Status – Hotspot' menu, the devices in question are listed as 'waiting' for some kind of action as follows:

MAC Address IP Address Session ID Username Session Time Idle Time 5C-XX-5B-55-XX-7C 192.168.182.12 5075b08600000001 – 0/0 0/0 releaseauthorize

If I click 'authorize' on the device in question and then try again, it works fine.

Why are the devices that are trying to connect get 'stuck' like this and fai lto display the splash page?

Is it anything to do with lease time or anything like that? The onyl other thing I can say is that both devices are also used to connect to the internet via the ADSL router that is 'before' the WRT54GL at other times, I am currectly switching between them to confirm that the hotspot is working correctly before I launch, but at the moment I am stuck with this issue and cannot launch.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
