VOIP only in a maritime environment.

    Hi I wondered if anyone had experience of using the VOIP sip solution in a maritime environment. We are wanting to provide VOIP to roughly 50 vessels with three sip phones per vessel. We would primiarly want to have the phones use pre-paid calling cards but may want one phone per vessel to be used in a postpaid fashion. Has anyone had experience of this as it would be across a Satellite connection and so low bandwidth with high latency.

    What are the codec’s supported? as if we can use a lower bandwidth offering it would preferable.

    Thanks for the information. Prepaid only may still work for our needs. Do you know if anyone has tried your voip solution across a sat link?

    Hi Colin
    We use Voip ON SAT Ka Band here in Brazil. It works very well uf you set up your ATA adapter properly.

    If you setup G729a CODEC you will use 20/20 Kbps CIR
