I’m searching for a secure Hotspot solution for our youth club.
We want to provide free internet access over wireless lan for all of our guests, but in case of abuse (down- or upload of illegal content, visits of illegal websites) wen must have the option to trace each of our guests. Can your Hotspot Free with SMS Voucher Solution trace
– visited websites
– downloaded packages over ftp, http, htpps and TCP
for each of the SMS vouchers?
And how long is the hold-back time of the logs?
And another question:
Can I expand the wireless lan radius by connecting one or two “normal” routers to the lanports of the router with the Hotspot firmware?
Thanks and regards Stefan Schadick
You can combine OpenDns functionality with the hotspot to get a log of websites that users visit. It can block certain sites, and generate a report of domains visited, but will not list for example compressed zip archive files. The logs we keep are kept for at least 5 years.
It is possible to extend the hotspot coverage through the lan ports. You will just have to configure the router depending on the firmware. Please see this article in our knowledge-base http://www.hotspotsystem.com/deskpro/kb_article.php?ref=3253-USGC-4685
