I Messed Up….

    Good Day

    I totally messed up and misunderstood the “What router models are compatible with the system” table. (yeah – I know it ain’t rocket science…but I managed to do it anyway) I have already purchased a Linksys WRT160NL – which IS compatible with OpenWRT – BUT – unfortunately not compatible with HotSpotWRT.

    I see that it IS compatible with DD-WRT, and per the instructions I see that there is configuration info I need to set once DD-WRT is installed.

    My question is: Can I install OpenWRT and perform a similar configuration as with DD-WRT and make this router work.

    My desire to use OpenWRT is a personal choice…but if the only route is to use DD-WRT I am open to that as well.

    Hello,

    You can install dd-wrt on it, Openwrt is not supported with hotspotsystem.com.

    Okay – thanks for the clarification. Somehow I got the impression that HotSpotWRT was a Hot Spot Systems version of OpenWRT….that must be an incorrect assumption on my part.

    No, HotspotWrt is based on Coova firmware.
