Server Access From My Lan

    I have a file and print server on my LAN which I need to be able to access the internet for it’s own security updates and sundry other automated tasks (ubuntu server 11.10). The server does not have any desktop gui installed, let alone a browser. Is there proxy information which I can use to have this machine get through the hotspot login page so that the OS can get updates?

    What router OS are you using? If anything with coova-chilli, *and* you have the skill to edit files from the command line, then yes, see here.

    If anything with old chilli (iow DD-WRT) then I maybe not. I’ve tried to play with iptables, but I was unsuccessful myself

    It looks as though in order to try that macallow parameter, I can simply update the nvram and commit it. If it works, then I vi it into default chili file, is this correct?

    I’ve simply added the lines to my config file under /etc/chilli and my server yacks up a storm now. thx
