Multiple Hotspots At Same Location W/o Using Wds

    Hi,

    Is it possible to set up two Free Plus hotspots at the same location for the rate of just one location, without having to use WDS?

    I've got the wiring so I can do 2 hotspots without resorting to WDS. I believe that WDS requires me to disconnect the ethernet cable from the hotspot that is running the system, therefore reducing the throughput for both stations (by adding the WDS overhead to the host station, and restricting the client station to whatever the host station can spare communicating with it). Please let me know if my understanding of WDS is wrong.

    Hello,

    if you want to install multiple routers within the same location you don't have to pay the fees twice.

    You can connect the two routers with any method, you can even give a completely separated internet source to the second router.

    However if both routers are running the hotspot module be sure to install them with different location IDS, like

    '1' for the first router

    '1_wds_1' for the second router

    this way both routers will send a life signal and both will be recognized by the control center.

    (it doesnt matter if you are connecting the two routers via WDS or not)

    Ah, thanks. I was concerned that using the _wds_1 IDS would trigger WDS routing and break things. Thanks.
