Upgraded Router

  • Hello,

We've been using the free-basic service with a WRT54G router with DDWRT firmware, and it has been going well so far.

However, we're in our “off-season”, and I can tell by current usage that when we get busy in the summer, our current product and service may not be enough. We'll likely need to upgrade to Free-Basic Plus, and we may need to get a better wireless router. I suspect that the WRT54G with DDWRT firmware is good enough for maybe about 5 simultaneous users And that brings me to my question… About how many simultaneous users is the WRT54G good for, and if we need to upgrade routers so that it can handle around 10-20 simultaneous users, is there a recommended model?

    Thanks for the feedback

    Hello,

The Linksys WRT54G can take 15-20 simoultaneous users' load unless you'd been experiencing otherwise with your local preferences. Of course this can vary with bandwidth load as well. What did you think the WRT54G's limitations upon? Any exact experience took you to this assumption?
