Hello,
I have started to setup the routers described in another of my forum posts.
I have updated to dd-wrt 21676.
The hotspot all works which is great.
I used to have open dns on the router, which I am now trying to configure, but the hotspot seems to override the ip address for the dns and allows the user to look at any content.
I have tried putting the ip addresses for openDNS in local dns, static DNS 1 and 2.
openDNS works when the hotspot is not setup.
Does anyone have any ideas.
BTW, I follow all the instructions in the setup of the router.
Thanks,
Leon
Hello,
Have you set the openDNS servers under Setup>Basic setup>router IP>Local DNS?
under the DHCP server it’s not the same thing, since it’s being replaced by the coovachilli process as soon as the hotspot has been started.

Hello,
I found that I was not using a static IP for my WAN behind the main adsl modem, therefore the adsl modem dns was being used, bypassing the dd-wrt dns that was set.
I followed the tutorial here and the dns now works.
Thanks,
Leon
