Asus Rt-N16 Running Dd-Wrt Issues

I am trying to use HotSpotSystem on a Asus RT-N16 running dd-wrt. Everything works fine on my unit but I cannot get HotSpotSystem to work.

I have tried 2 different firmwares (14896 & 14311). They both do the same thing.

I have it setup to bridge on the LAN. When I connect a unit to the wifi when HotSpotSystem is running I get limited access and cannot get to the web at all. I have tried using a virtual wifi interface and unbridging it. I cannot get it to work like that either.

I have this same router working with Sputnik but I don’t really like their software and would rather use HotSpotSystem.

Should this work on this router with this firmware or am I missing something?

With DD-WRT build versions from 22118(or 21676) are supported.

Hi, I have the same problem, I have a Rt-N16 with DD-Wrt (build 21676), I can connect to the normal, protect, Wifi and to the virtual, open, Wifi, but when I connect to the virtual I can only connect and obtain an Ip (in the correct range 192.168.182.0/24) but I can’t see the splash page or navigate. Can you help me? Thanks a lot!

I am struggling with this router, too. I did get the hotspot to work for a short period, but then I moved it to a new site and am back to working with the Hotspotsystem support. Anyway, some info on the build that I finally got working:

dd-wrt.v24-22118_NEWD-2_K3.x-big-RT-N16.trx – HOWEVER, I bricked my router twice during firmware updates before reading that you have to start with a K2.x build, then move to K3.x 21530, and finally to 22118 for it to work, otherwise it soft-bricks. So, I would recommend the approach above and see if that works. At a minimum, you will have a supported build installed so hotspotsystem support should be able to assist.

Thank you for the feedback, unfortunately we cannot test out every router with every dd-wrt build, because there are thousands of combinations. So your feedback is greatly appreciated.
