Set the connecting device to DHCP. Check what ip address you receive and try connecting to the gateway ip address of the subnet.
Try the same with the wireless connection. If the router does not accept a connection, try setting the device to a static ip address on the subnet and connect that way.
Make sure the router is not connected to the internet when performing the above.
