We would like to inform you that you need to edit a configuration file on the router to perform this operation.
So, you need to SSH to your router using an ssh client like Putty, the same way you did when you set up the router. To do this please repeat step 5 of our installation guide: http://www.hotspotsystem.com/installation-guide-ubiquiti-airmax
Once you are in the router. Type the following:
cd /etc
cd chilli
vi defaults
Scroll down to:
HS_DNS1=8.8.8.8
HS_DNS2=8.8.4.4
press the INSERT button on your keyboard and change the values
from:
HS_DNS1=8.8.8.8
HS_DNS2=8.8.4.4
to:
HS_DNS1=208.67.222.222
HS_DNS2=208.67.220.220
press the ESC (escape) button on your keyboard. Type “:wq”
Reboot your router.
That’s it. You can now use openDNS for the Ubiquiti router that has openwrt firmware installed.
