If your router supports an external antenna, then you can benefit from it. Yuo will need to configure the router for antenan placement also: http://hotspotsystem.com/deskpro/kb_article.php?ref=4194-QWPL-7526

Keep in mind that even if your wireless range is increased and people will be able to receive the signal father away their devices (laptops, mobile phones) wil not be able transmit the signal back that far.
