Getting "your Purchased Access Is Not Valid For This Hotspot" Msg

  • I am setting up a wifi hotspot for a hotel. I am getting “Your purchased access is not valid for this hotspot ” mesage when I logon to the hotspot via a of the APs. I am getting the splash page, after click the ok button, then getting error message.

    Here is the setup:

    Hotspot basic Free

    4 Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 wieless routers with DD-WRT v24 preSP2 build 14311

1 router connects to the internet, other 3 act as APs and connected the main router via a switch (wired). From the main router, I can connect to the internet via the hotspot (192.168.185.0), either wire or wireless. When I try to connect to internet from of the APs, I am getting the error message “Your purchased access is not valid for this hotspot “. Hotspot is enabled in the APs, and DHCP is off. I am getting the IP addresses from the main router. When the hotspot is turned off in the APs, I still getting the same msg when connected via wifi. However, I can connect to the internet via wire connection (no splash page).

    Please help.

    Thanks

    Hello,

we need your operator username so we can check your location.

It is possible that your mac address has been registered before in an other location and you can only log in for free in one location until the access is valid in that location.

What is your email address? I will email the operator info to you. The wifi adapter mac address is 70:1A:04:C4:D0:0E. The LAN adapter mac address is 00:26:2D:7A:F3:20. I did test the setup with one router before setting up it the client site. I was able to connect to the internet via the router which connected to the internet via wire connector and wifi. I am having problem when I tried to connect via the APs.

    Thanks

We have no support via email. You can use the forums, operator username is not a private or sensitive information.

    The hotspot name is econolodgenyc

    Hello,

this mac address has already been registered with operator username “wcchau” and has a valid access there, thats why you cannot log in under “econolodgenyc”.

Now i unregistered the mac address so you can use it under “econolodgenyc”.

Since all APs are connecting to the main router, and getting IP address from it (DCHP is off in the APs), does I need to setup hotspot in the APs? The main router will be configured to redirect to the splash page via LAN or wirless connection.

    Thanks
