Hotspot Pro "free Trial" Password

    I’m a hotspot pro user with free trial on my splash page which is usually set for 1 hour (every 2 weeks) as well as hourly, weekly and monthly paid offerings. I also offer 3 and 6 month vouchers.

    For the long term voucher purchasers I would like to offer a free trial of (say) a day or a week. I tried doing this and succeeded allowing access for one week using the free trial option on the splash page.

    The user ID is her mac address. Ok, fine. However, how does she sign back in after losing a connection without a password? I tried the multiple combinations of the mac + name (not user name but name on account), mac + mac etc etc.

    Help would be appreciated indeed.

    Hello,

    password is ‘password’ or the mac address. But the way is to enable macauth in the router, if it is supported by the router.

    But the best would be to give out free vouchers to these guests.

    Did not work.

    I have no and don’t know how to generate ‘free vouchers’. A link would be appreciated.

    macauth on a dd-wrt’d wrt54-tm router is in the chilispot section as enable and disable radio button options however, there is no place to put in the mac address or instruction that I can find.

    the other two mac address sections are designed to either allow/disallow/limit and I don’t want to have to administer each of the clients this season if my thinking is right. (Don’t hesitate to tell me I’m wrong either please)

    — Still looking for a solution before my potential clients go away.

    you can buy free vouchers in the wifi shop. Please open a help desk ticket because we cannot give you account related information here in the public forums.

    You don’t need to put any mac address there, because that is using radius mac authentication so it will allow all mac addresses automatically that have valid access to the hotspot.

    Alrighty. Got that all fixed up and this is the summary of how I (with Rolands help TYVM) got the free vouchers for potential customers.

    I went to HSS and signed into my account

    Went to the Wifi-shop

    Filled out and submitted a Voucher request authorization form (or what ever the name is)

    and submitted it to HSS.

    Was charged $0.05USD per voucher upon approval by HSS

    Located and printed vouchers from my account where HSS Vouchers are located.

    I don’t think I should pay anything for free vouchers but, knowing HSS is there for me each and every time I need help, I can only assume there is indeed a justifiable reason.

    Hello,

    well, even if you give out vouchers for free, you are still using our cloud services. We display the splash page to the users, authenticate them, record their usage, give you statistics, etc. And as you wrote we give support, but that’s just a little part of all the services we provide.
