Is It Possible To Have The Hot Spot Behind Another Router…of Course It Seems It Should Work

  • I have dd-wrt latest version running on 2 routers.

the first router has the internet connection

the second router is client bridged to the first router via the wireless.

so now i have a bridge network 192.168.3.x (.1 is the gateway, .9 is the hotspot)

I was able to configure the hot spot and get a 192.168.182.x ipaddress on my laptop, but I could not

    1) ping the 192.168.182.1 (the gateway for the network, the hotspot router)

when I tried to ping it, I traced it through the hotspot router and out the gateway where it died after a few hops…(the 192.168.x is not valid out there)

Also, do I have to run the setup.sh script if I have the latest version of the dd-wrt router s/w. I am not sure about that. I have tried both ways, and when I run the script, the router kicks me off and I can’t ping it any more. Must reload to defaults and start over. (the hotspot is a Ubiquiti M2 running dd-wrt)

    thanks,

Why don’t use use our special Ubiquiti AirOS firmware? DD-WRT has several issues so we recommend to use the AirOS firmware on Ubiquiti devices.

    ok…i will try that today.
    thanks
