Ssid Change

  • How can we change the SSID to have our location name, so that customers can find it easier?

    Many Thanks

It depends on the firmware. In ddwrt you can change it under Wireless-basic settings-wireless network name (SSID).

For HotspotWrt you can use these instructions: http://hotspotsystem.com/deskpro/kb_article.php?ref=1218-DLZV-3307

You can also set up Coova/HotspotWRT/ DDWRTfirmwares to accept commands remotely, then you can change the SSID from the control center. See this article on the topic: http://hotspotsystem.com/deskpro/kb_article.php?ref=5216-YGHX-8291

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. 🙂 I will investigate which firmware we have. Changing the SSID to not have hotspotsystem in it will not cause any problems, will it?

You are free to change the SSID as you like, it’s your router 🙂

No, when I changed My ssid the redirect to login no longer works, you can connect and use the internet with out having to login now.

I think this may be a temporary glitch. The SSID can be changed freely, it will not affect the operation of the hotspot.

    Hello Everybody.

I ve got the same problem, my SSID is still OpenWrt and i can't change it.

I tried to see it in ssh but i didn't find it

The SSid will change to Openwrt when teh ssid is too long. Try a shorter SSID. After you click change, you also have to click the changes pending link on the top right part of the screen for the changes to take effect.

Ahhhhh you're right ! i ve seen the 3 message pending lol. Sorry thks a lot.
