TP-Link Archer C7 (AC1750) + DD-WRT issue

Hi there,
I successfully installed the last DD-WRT build (28139 – Nov 13, 2015) on a TP-Link Archer C7 (AC1750). Everything works well when I use it with the basic configuration.
Then I tried to configure the Hotspot service with a location using a Free Social Plan. The router is then never seen in the Control Center, even after a reboot.
Fortunately I have a “old” Linksys WRT160NL flashed with a “old” DD-WRT build (23xxx – don’t remember) and I configured it the same way. The Control Center sees that one.
Is there any issue with the Archer C7 or with the last DD-WRT build?
Please advise… Thanks in advance,
Jean-Marc Roussel

Hello,
DDwrt does not test their builds for Hotspotsystem functionality.
Also note that 2015 builds are in beta.
For this reason we recommend using build 22118 which has been tested and is stable.
Mmmm… Your DD-WRT installation guide mentions “We can only recommend build 22118 or later (coovachilli based dd-wrt).”
Build 22118 is a very old one and does not exist for recent routers like Archer C7…
We randomly test new builds for compatibility but usually results vary across different chipsets.
FYI I’ve installed the build 25697 on the Archer C7 and everything works perfectly now.
