I am having Asus router with Firmware:DD-WRT v24-sp2(07/20/12)std
Configured dd-wrt to use hotspot system.Filled every field other than Remote network. But users are not taken to authentication servers instead they can access every websites with out going to the authentication server.
Network:Topology
Router1:Asus with ddwrt and hotspot with wifi n/w 192.168.1.0/24
Router2:Connected to modem and has internet connection with no wifi n/w 192.168.2.0/24 .
users connect through wifi on router1 and instead of taking to hotspot authentication they have been taken to any site of their choice…
When using a newer build you should create a virtual interface. See this article: http://www.hotspotsystem.com/deskpro/kb_article.php?ref=2729-IZCM-3054
Hi,
Here my router configuration :
I create the virtual interface and it's working well ( redirection, vouchers,…) on dd-wrt_va
But the main connection dd-wrt is still available and open with no captive portal.
What is the best solution to be sure all the users will be using just my Hotspot System redirection page ?
I did some testing with your build and I was able to turn off broadcasting of the physical interface without the virual one disappearing.
What do you mean by securing the main conection? Which encryption protocol did you use? Some don't sem to work, but you can use WEP, see this article: http://hotspotsystem.com/deskpro/kb_article.php?ref=1364-WLXB-3087
