Wireless Through A Wired Router

    It is necessary for me to run the wireless router through the wired router.

    Wireless Router is a D-Link 615 ver.e3. The firmware was successfully installed and HotSpot was configured as outlined in the install guide. DHCP is turned off.

    Wired router is a Linksys/Cisco befsr41. DHCP is turned on. The routers are connected LAN to LAN.

    The wireless broadcasts its SSID and I can connect to it, however, there is, “limited or no connectivity.”

    The wired router is at 192.168.1.1.

    I changed the wireless to 192.168.1.2. However, it appears that randomly, I lose my ability to connect to the web-based setup.

    Can anyone point in a better direction?

    It is not necessary to run the router through a gateway. You can set up the router to connect directly to the internet. The router should be connected using its WAN port, even if it connects through another router. If the router is connected to the internet through a wireless link that may cause problems, like the hotspot won’t start.
