If you have more than one AP, a hotspot gateway is the recommended solution (it can be a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter or a Mikrotik hEX or any other Mikrotik router with RouterOS license level 4 or higher), then any AP can be used: you just have to connect them to that gateway. This way you can use the special features of the AP, you still have flexibility to expand your hotspot coverage, and the actual hotspot service runs on a central device.

You can do that, just configure the setup script accordingly. You need an interface for the hotspot, though.

They removed software components from v5.xx firmware which is necessary to make it work with us. It’s still compatible, but only partially, a couple of things don’t work (like the bandwidth limit for example)

Unfortunately the hotspot service handles only one uplink. While authenticating, one connection must be used, it cannot be segmented. If you can configure the two WAN ports not to load-balance HTTPS and RADIUS traffic, then bridge them together somehow and use that as the uplink for the hotspot service, it may work.

Looks like you don’t have a subscription, so I wonder how do you see the user reports, if that’s a premium feature. The 100 MB limit should be enforced.

When eth2 is configured in our guide, we assume that the EdgeRouter is connected to a main router/modem with DHCP capabilites. Since pppoe is different than that, you need to adjust this step to your situation. The rest should be the same.

You cannot change that, I’m sorry. You can look up any user in the User Report and use the MAC address found there for managing him/her

The TP-Link TL-WR841ND v10 is a quite tricky router, since we can’t support it via our custom OpenWRT firmware, so your only option is DD-WRT. The problem with that is it can be quite unpredictable how it behaves, what bugs surface from build to build. I’m terribly sorry, but all I can say look for a newer build here

Alternative solution: use a MAC address spoofing software (like the Technitium MAC Address Changer – https://technitium.com/tmac/) to change the MAC address of your network card at the beginning of each session.
